Twilight Night - Christina Georgina Rossetti
Suggested by Inanisvoid
I
We met, hand to hand,
We clasped hands close and fast,
As close as oak and ivy stand;
But it is past:
Come day, come night, day comes at last.
We loosed hand from hand,
We parted face from face;
Each went his way to his own land.
At his own pace,
Each went to fill his separate place.
If we should meet one day,
If both should not forget,
We shall clasp hands the accustomed way,
As when we met
So long ago, as I remember yet.
II
Where my heart is (wherever that may be)
Might I but follow!
If you fly thither over heath and lea,
O honey-seeking bee,
O careless swallow,
Bid some for whom I watch keep watch for me.
Alas! that we must dwell, my heart and I,
So far asunder.
Hours wax to days, and days and days creep by;
I watch with wistful eye,
I wait and wonder:
When will that day draw nigh—that hour draw nigh?
Not yesterday, and not, I think, to-day;
Perhaps to-morrow.
Day after day 'to-morrow' thus I say:
I watched so yesterday
In hope and sorrow,
Again to-day I watch the accustomed way.
This poem was written in March 1886.
Christina Georgina Rossetti was born 5 December 1830 in London, England, and was a Pre-Raphaelite poet. She is perhaps best known for the lyrics to the Christmas carol 'In the Bleak Midwinter'. She died 29 December 1894.

Do you remember when we were younger?
The days were brighter.
The world was simpler.
Everything that mattered made sense.
How have things changed so much?
Do you remember those two little girls?

When I am Dead, my Dearest - Christina Georgina Rosetti
Suggested by Inanisvoid (https://www.deviantart.com/inanisvoid)
When I am dead, my dearest,
Sing no sad songs for me;
Plant thou no roses at my head,
Nor shady cypress tree:
Be the green grass above me
With showers and dewdrops wet;
And if thou wilt, remember,

Important Announcement
Hi all,
I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your continued support. However, I'm afraid I am no longer prepared to dedicate the necessary time and effort to this project.
I have 5 suggestions from dA left to feature, but after that the group will be closing. I will leave the account, PoetryToTheMasses (https://www.deviantart.com/poetrytothemasses), up so that the articles may still be viewed.
If you wish to suggest any more poems or songs from outside dA, I will continue to feature them alongside the ones from dA. However I will not be accepting anymore suggestions of poems/lyrics from dA.
If there is by any chance someone who wishes to take over the project, l
