#EDIT#
The contest ends midnight tomorrow! Remember to get your entries in by then!
Sorry I didn't give you more warning, but I've been really busy over the last week or so.
So, it's undeniable that P2TM needs more publicity, and to facilitate this I've decided to host a contest. The idea is simple – take your favourite poem or song lyrics and create a deviation based on or inspired by it. It can be any media at all, anything from a painted pot to a photograph to a poem of your own.
Examples:
blonde-walf.deviantart.com/art… – inspired by Three Boats Down From the Candy by Marillion
blonde-walf.deviantart.com/art… inspired by A Birthday Present by Sylvia Plath
blonde-walf.deviantart.com/art… based on A Comrade by Will H. Ogilvie
Deadline: 31st August 2011, 23:59:59 GMT (Time zone converter: www.timezoneconverter.com/cgi-…)
This gives you plenty of time to create your entry and get it entered, including all of the summer holiday.
How to enter: Send your entry in a note or comment to PoetryToTheMasses and I will add it to the "Contest Entries" collection, provided it complies with all the rules.
Rules:
Prizes:
(will be updated)
Judges:
Entries will be judged on quality as well as how they have interpreted and portrayed the poem/song lyric they used.
The top three will be voted on by watchers to decide who gets first, second and third.
If you would like to donate prizes or judge, send a note or comment to QuenWrites or PoetryToTheMasses. Prize donors may still enter but judges may not.
Thank you all, and I look forward to seeing your entries!

Do you remember when we were younger?
The days were brighter.
The world was simpler.
Everything that mattered made sense.
How have things changed so much?
Do you remember those two little girls?

We met, hand to hand,
We clasped hands close and fast,
As close as oak and ivy stand;
But it is past:
Come day, come night, day comes at last.
We loosed hand from hand,
We parted face from face;
